About This Project
The Challenge
The homeowners—a young family with three small children—wanted to update the kitchen and dining area of their older home while also replacing the flooring throughout. Their existing kitchen layout was inefficient, with awkward angles and limited functionality for everyday family life.
The Approach
We reimagined the kitchen by removing the angled walls and reconfiguring the sink area to create a more open, practical layout. All existing cabinetry was replaced with white shaker cabinets extended to the ceiling, maximizing storage and creating a clean, timeless look.
To brighten the space, we paired light, neutral quartz countertops with a fresh green tile backsplash for a subtle pop of color. In the dining area, we improved flow by repositioning furniture and added soft window treatments to bring warmth and balance to the space.
Throughout the home, we replaced the dark laminate flooring with light luxury vinyl plank (LVP), a durable and family-friendly solution designed to withstand high traffic from children and pets. We also introduced an accent wall in the entryway to visually connect the main living areas.
The Result
The result is a cohesive, functional kitchen and dining space that better supports the needs of a busy young family. Lighter finishes, thoughtful design details, and improved flow come together to create a welcoming, stylish home that feels both practical and serene.
