About This Project
The Challenge
This project involved updating a 25-year-old, four-bedroom, three-bath home in Manatee County—both inside and out. The exterior featured a dated stucco finish, and the existing lanai offered little functional value. Inside, the floor plan did not support the homeowners’ lifestyle, and storage was limited. As they were significantly downsizing, maximizing usable storage and improving flow were key priorities.
The Approach
We began by refreshing the exterior with a light, neutral paint color that complements the surrounding landscape. Inside, walls and trim were painted crisp white, with a soft sea-glass tone added to the doors for contrast and character.
Lighting was updated throughout, and new window treatments were introduced to soften the interiors. Existing mixed flooring was removed and replaced with light-toned luxury vinyl plank, creating a cohesive and durable foundation.
To better support the homeowners’ lifestyle—especially with frequent visits from grandchildren—the outdoor living area was completely reimagined. The underutilized lanai was replaced with a pool, hot tub, and outdoor kitchen, transforming it into a true gathering space.
The kitchen was fully renovated, featuring ceiling-height white shaker cabinetry, a blue tile backsplash, and white quartz countertops. To maximize storage, the formal dining room was converted into a spacious walk-in pantry, providing room for pantry staples, snacks, and small appliances.
The Result
The finished home feels fresh, functional, and reflective of its coastal setting. The updated layout and expanded storage support the homeowners’ day-to-day living, while the new outdoor spaces create a welcoming environment for family and guests.
Performance fabrics were selected throughout to ensure durability and ease of maintenance, making the home both beautiful and well-suited for frequent use by family of all ages.
