The Challenge
The Approach
The home was thoughtfully organized into functional zones to support the family’s day-to-day living. With six bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths, the layout provides ample space for both gathering and privacy.
Highly functional spaces were a priority. A large laundry and mudroom sits just off the garage, and a generous pantry—designed with two aisles and room for additional freezers—supports bulk storage needs. A built-in dog house with direct backyard access was incorporated for convenience and ease of care.
The lower level expands the home’s livability, featuring a theater room, playroom, workout space, and an additional family room.
For the exterior, we selected cementitious siding, shingles, and board and batten to achieve the coastal look while ensuring long-term durability in the Utah climate. An attached four-car garage with a car lift, along with a separate two-car garage, provides plenty of space for vehicles, recreational equipment, and storage.
The Result
The finished home successfully balances form and function—delivering a tailored design that supports the homeowners’ lifestyle while maintaining a cohesive coastal craftsman aesthetic.
Interior details such as layered moldings, coastal-inspired paint colors, glass transoms, and a custom staircase add character and refinement throughout. The result is a home that feels both elevated and livable, designed to perform beautifully in its mountain setting.
